The International Designer Canine Association recognized and began recording registration for the Shichon in 2009.

Hybrid Origin:  The Shichon is a hybrid between the Bichon Frise and the Shih Tzu.

Erroneous Alias:  Zuchon, Teddy Bear, Bichon Tzu

Country of Origin:  Shichons originate in the United States of America.

Original Purpose:  The Shichon is a great family companion.

Breed Characteristics:  Shichons generally have the demeanor of the Bichon Frise and the playfulness of the Shih Tzu.

Shichons tend to be very loyal, loving to spend time with there family and owners.

Life Expectancy:  Average life expectance for the Shichon is 10 - 13 years.
